Rubber Stamping: Black ink - is it naff or am I doing it wrong?

    I have a black "ink it up" ink pad and I can never get a really good and even colour with it with anything other than a tiny stamp. I am not sure if I am doing it wrong or if the ink is just rubbish. What do you think?

    Are you pressing the stamp into the ink? you get a far better coverage if you lay the stamp flat and gently tap the inkpad over the image

    Also - do not press too hard! if you have a very wet ink pad you may end up with big dollops of ink on the stamp, make sure you tap lightly
